This Article will help you replace your MPPT module in the event troubleshooting agents have determined that the module has gone bad.
1. Remove Gray faceplate. There are six Phillips head screw, three running up each side.
Remove the bright finish Allen screws on the front cover, two on the top and two on the
bottom.
2. The faceplate has some ribbon cables. Removal is not necessary. This is where a
second set of hands would help to hold the face plate up while the part is replaced.
3. Once the faceplate is removed or placed to the side. Remove the right side plate using the same screwdriving as was used to take off the face plate.
4. Removal of the panel will reveal the MPPT module. To protect the circuit board and connectors from damage it is recommended to use a razor is used to lift the red adhesive from the pin connectors. There are two pin connectors, one on top and one on the side.
5. Next remove the + and - cables that lead to the battery. These are located on the
outboard side on the bottom and are removed with a 7mm socket.
6. Next will be removal of the solar input wires. Give the Molex terminal strip a little more
freedom of movement by loosening the two right most of the three flat head screws. This
will allow a flat head to be inserted on the back terminals to remove the final bit of wiring.
7. The final step of removal is taking out the four screws that affix the MPPT module to the
inverter frame. After that, installation is the opposite of removal.
We will need the MPPT module back to complete our RMA process. If you didn’t get a return label for it please email shipping@ruralpowersystems.com
