The WaterSecure has several settings to help facilitate operation of the system. From expected input voltage ranges to output frequency, these settings can be changed using the buttons on the WaterSecure screen. The following are the WaterSecure’s seven settings:
- Input Voltage Range
This determines the expected range of incoming AC power into the unit, and is defaulted to NOA mode. Typically this setting does not need to be changed.
NOA: 210-250 VAC
Uld: 170-280 VAC
- Output Voltage
This determines the default voltage output setting, which is 240 VAC. Typically this setting does not need to be changed but the option to lower the voltage is there.
- Output Frequency
The default output frequency is set to 60hz as nearly all North America appliances and pumps utilize 60hz. The frequency can be lowered to 50hz or be set to adaptive frequency (AF). Typically this setting does not need to be changed.
- AC Charger ON/OFF
The default AC charger setting is to have it turned on. You can turn off the acceptance of AC charging using this setting or by turning off the AC breaker on the unit itself.
- AC Charger Current
This setting dictates how much amperage of AC charging you want to allow the system to receive. A higher setting will allow for faster charging and use more AC than a lower setting. Default setting varies from 28A to 21A. There are also more settings not shown in the image above such as 07A.
- DC/AC/Intelligent Mode Selection
To maximize solar power, we recommend the unit be in DC priority mode. This means
the unit will always use solar power when available before switching over to AC power. The reverse is also true for AC priority mode. Intelligent mode is balanced between AC and DC power; the unit will decide which application is best based on the battery health.
- DC Conversion Voltage Point
The default for this battery voltage cut off is usually set to 12V. This setting controls the level of battery discharge before the unit no longer pulls power from the batteries. A lower setting will allow a greater depth of discharge from the batteries and increase runtime slightly. A higher setting will preserve the battery voltage for more conservative battery use.
